I remember Bute getting up at nine. He won that fight. One of Calzaghes stoppage wins was a total disgrace. Cortez ****s up a lot. Dawson getting stopped by the headbut was a serious wtf moment for me. Seemed like the doctor didn't even look at the cut.
Bute was technically upright, but he was not up under his own power. If the only thing holding you up is the ropes, that's a knockdown, right? If you get to your feet, but can't support yourself without holding onto the ropes, you are not up under your own power and should not be allowed to continue. Counting down the seconds until the final bell while letting a fighter chill on the ropes is a horrible ref job.
Sven Ottke v Robin Reid - disgraceful. Roger Tilleman was and still is a joke. Was one of the judges at Kessler v Froch 118-110 i believe Haven't seen Williams vs Airich but from whta ive heard, it was beyond a joke
wasnt he up at 8 andrade bull rushed ref looked over to send him back to the corner Bute responded to the commands like Taylor didnt and was allowed to continue if anything Andrade should have stayed in his corner
But he wasn't really allowed to continue. He was allowed to lay on the ropes for several seconds. I remember Showtime starting a clock that showed 24 seconds elapsed between the knockdown and the ref signalling the fight back on. Holding your hometown meal ticket up until the final bell rings is unprofessional at best, and a rig job at worst.
ottke reid definetly worst i can remember. that fight that frank warren was the ref and doctor in was bad, barrera and some guy called kahn
