    Not any old fighter that nobody has ever heard of, I mean a relatively well know and / or successful fighter. For example I seem to remember hearing Manuel Medina turned pro very young and Audley Harrison turned pro at a relatively advanced age.

    Well in Mexico you're allowed to turn pro at age 15. Guys like Barrera, Margarito, Julio Cesar Chavez Sr. have all started out that young.

    matt skelton must be a winner.

    never turned pro until he was 35 years old and is the current european heavy champ and has fought for a world title.

    Nate Campbell and Lawrence Clay-Bey both turned pro relatively late (mid-late 20s I believe)

    Nice question.

    Wilfredo Benitez I think was youngest ever champion at 17 but not sure how long it took him to win that. But I would assume he either started young or got his shot really early!

    Off the top of my head, Floyd won the SFW within about 2 years I think. Battling Nelson started really early.

    Also found this;

    "The Ring magazine said that Baby Arizmendi was perhaps the youngest person ever to have become a professional boxer; he turned pro at the ripe old age of 13, although some swore he was only seven when he had his first pro fight. (May 1982 issue, p. 14.)"
