Folks, What's this rubbish / nonsense that 53 year old Tony Tubbs, father of 16 ******* kids, is embarking on a boxing comeback in 2011? What state or country will grant Tony Tubbs a license to fight? Tony Tubbs claims he is now clean and sober and broke.... The law is on his azz for un-paid child support... Okay, well, is a boxing comeback gonna make all them family issues go away? By the sound of it, he needs money more so than a hog needs mud... Who doesn't in 2011??? At any rate, I see this ill attempt at recapturing the past as a lotta' bollocks.... Tony Tubbs is delusional to the max.... If he needs work, well, try coaching or training a young puppy, but forget about a ring return... Any thoughts on Tony Tubbs and his desire to fight again in the public eye?-blood:roflpatsch:roll: MR.BILL:yikes
So many great matchups out there. Maybe Holyfield could fight him. This content is protected This content is protected
I never had a problem when 38 year old Foreman cameback in 1987 or when 41 year old Holmes cameback in 1991, or even when Duran refused to quit and fought until age 50... However, Tubbs is not an ATG boxer; he was good at best.... But at the advanced age of 53 he is likely to get hurt, if not carefully handled.... However, again, question, does anyone really care to see Tubbs fight on ESPN against Johnny Polesmoker at some remote location in Omaha, Nebraska??? Who will stay home on Friday night for that event? MR.BILL
That I'd stay home for.... BUT!! Tony Tubbs would have to be at least a serious 240 pounds in order to catch my eye...... Holy is always ripped & toned, so Tubbs would need to prove to me he is for real and be serious.... MR.BILL:hat
sad thing is he would be able to get a fight in kentucky or some place like that. i heard hearns was suppose to make a comeback. i wonder whatever happened to that?
Hearns was great, but also a fool...... How the hell do you end up owing $500K in back taxes after you've grossed millions' from the ring? Don't these fighters ever stop and think to call H&R Block??? The one common flaw and problem is, a boxing manager doesn't necessarily know how to properly account for and manage big money.... They only know how to spend it....... Fighters need to start adding a tax man to the team, if and when the big fights and money begin to roll in.... 4 outta 5 times your boxing manager will send you to the poor house in the end..... ....hell it's been worse Joe Mesi somehow got a license to box again when it was discovered he had bleeding in the brain ...to be fair that got knocked out quickly and many made sure he didn't fight still he did get a boxing license despite all of that for a short time.
Wisconsin licensed Aaron Pryor back in the early 1990s when he was legally blind in one eye...... :deal Colorado allowed Jerry Quarry to box in 1992 at age 47 and punchy as all hell.... **** happens in the world of boxing......atsch MR.BILL:hat
