Yeah, having No Angels singing was stupid. Hey, they need to come with Abraham to MSG to show Americans how great German pop music is!!! ;-)

Well, they have fights on free television and free streams via the Internet at more than once a month, you won't hear any complaints from me.

On top of that all the entrance fees for the big fights in Germany are quite modest compared with countries like England or the USA.

There is something rotten in the country of Germany if boxers refuse to fight there. Take Bute, for example. He can fight Larsen in Germany or in Denmark. Apparently, Sauerland has only allowed Berrio to defend his belt in Montreal if Interbox agreed that Bute would fight someone in the Sauerland stable, if he won, abroad. Interbox said there's no way they would let Bute fight in Germany...despite the better money and exposure,...it's not difficult to see why.

Now, I know many German posters defend German boxing, saying corruption is not worse than anywhere else and that Germany has a bad name in vain, but...come on...let's not kid ourselves...in Britain, when disgraceful stuff happens, it's usually down to Warren getting together with Dave Parris and/or Mickey Vann, but it doesn't happen that often...and Warren, Parris and Vann are notorious for the stunts they pull anyway, so not being much worse than these three isn't something to feel pleased about.

German boxing has a big credibility problem, bigger than any other country out there. And that's completely un-Germanic too - isn't Germany famous for the rule of law and for a tough stance against corruption? That this kind of stuff is allowed to happen in Germany of all places is really embarrassing!

I'll give you an example involving a Romanian boxer, just so that I'm not accused of bias:

    http://www.boxrec.com/media/index.php?title=Fight:11417

Samaniego was robbed of the title CLEARLY! Yet, Loewe, promoted in Germany by Universum (Kohl), got the win and took Samaniego's belt, in Germany, of course!

Just this weekend, a referee helped a boxer promoted by Sauerland up on his feet from his KD...he only started counting at 3 after he helped him up, about 7 seconds later too!

That's a really stupid post - Bute vs. Larsen, big deal! If Bute is as good as any Canuck is saying, he should put away Larsen with ease. Germany, Denmark, anywhere. And pease tell me some about corruption - if there is any, the media would have already noticed and would have investigate on it.

But ok, I already here you screaming: Lucas was robbed, Green was robbed!

Lucas may have deserved a close decision but the fight was close - only thing people could blame here is the WBC not granting Lucas a rematch. On the other side Green fought very dumb the first time vs. Beyer and deserved to be DQed by flagrantly headbutting him.

Plus I would add the AA-Miranda fiasco but though, the IBF would have given Miranda a 2nd chance but he choosed o fight Pavlik...

Btw, guys like Brewster and Byrd enjoyed Germany everytime they were around...

Tom, I respect you as a poster very much, but we both know that a Sauerland or Universum promoted boxer has to lose a fight by at least 4 clear rounds to be guaranteed to lose the fight.

Not a long time ago, Sanavia was robbed of a win against Haussler, who is promoted by Sauerland...

The list goes on and on and on...

Sure, these things happen anywhere, but in Germany or with German promoted boxers, they happen much more often. In fact, I am always surprised when I see something fishy DIDN'T happen, especially if the German fighter/German promoted fighter had a hard time in the ring. And this is taking into account that many of the big German stars' defences are against non-world class opposition!

Watch Reid v. Ottke and you will be amazed by what the referee did that night!
