I don't know why he ducked Rahman (scared maybe), but he did duck him. Rahman was the #1 contender for like an entire year and Vk wouldn't fight him even though he was the mandatory for him. Somehow he was able to get around the rules and fight Danny Williams instead of Rahman, fight fans were pissed at that time. Here was this guy who was mouthing off all this time about Lewis ducking him and here he is afraid to fight Rahman. Dudring that time there was alot of fight he could have made and VK wanted NONE of them. Ruiz and Valuev wanted to fight and Chris Byrd was up for a rematch, VK wanted none of them. He still would bring up Lewis name from time to time, Lewis wouldn't address, but even Lennox had to address VK's chicken **** ways in an interview he asked why was VK worried about him when you got all these guys calling him out, and that he was retired and wasn't coming back.
Really? He must've struck a nerve. He just ask a question and you got personal. Anyway his best win to be was the Arreola fight. I thought he actually had a chance.
Problem with Vitali except **** era in boxing is his 4 year inactivity period, which probably would be his prime
I have a very short fuse when it comes to welfare bums like baller, they're on this froum really because they have no life, just "useless feeders", with their mouth open like a baby birds....
I agree, I remember Valuev calling him out in 2003 right after the Lewis fight. Valuev had just crushed #1 contender Otis Tisdale to splash into the rankings.
My point is, I lost alot of respect for VK during that time because of all those guys calling him out and him not responding. Here this guy made a name for himself calling out a guy who had BEAT him and was RETIRED for a year or 2 but meanwhile these active guys, who all (at the time) were all top 10 guys in the weightclass, with legitimate claims for a shot but VK wouldn't fight none of them, but fight DANNY "BUM ASS" WILLIAMS instead and his fans clammer like thats some kind of accomplishment. The hypocrisy of it all was totally ****ing disgusting.
Probably Ross Purity and Corrie Sanders, avenging his brother's defeats and doing it in emphatic fasion. Other than that, I'd say Arreola and Gomez are pretty impressive wins. It's of note that ever since the Byrd fight, Vitali has lost one weapon from his arsenal (the left hook due to injury), so it's impressive that even with that handicap, he still manages to look a lot tougher in the ring than his brother.
Exactly, Valeuv was #1 in 2004. But not a single publication listed him in their top 10 because they hate Russians. :-( And you know what, he is still callling out Vitali. So hypocritical and disgusting.
