Fair enough, Vitali will get my praise if he wins. Though I do believe it will show how weak the Heavyweight division truly is and how a guy who was nearly 4 years inactive can come back and take over where he left off. A knockout win over Peter would also undermine what Wlad has achieved over the last 3 years as well, when he fought Peter back in 05, he had a ton of trouble beating a much greener Peter, which was probably his best win to date, and if Vitali would end up knocking out a prime Peter, history will show Vitali being the much more dominant Heavyweight of this era, even with 4 years erased from his career due to injuries.

That he fought his best fight against a past his prime Lewis yet was still given a full face-makeover.

    His most important stat is:

    0-2 against elite opposition.

A KO win for Vitlai will not undermine what Wlad did, because Wlad did not stop Peter.

If by chance Peter wins, I do think it will make Wlad's win look a bit better on paper.

I do think Peter is at his best now, and in his prime.

How good or bad the heavyweight division is right now depends on the matches that could be made. Vitlai vs Peter in my opinion is the best match for the division, with Wlad vs Chagaev or Valuev being a close second. We also need to see Povetkin and Chagaev in major fights.

It will undermine what Wlad did, while he did beat Peter, he looked horrible doing it, falling all over the place, numerous panic attacks, excessive holding, but if a 4 year inactive Vitali can lay a prime Peter out without any problems, whats that say about Wlad? I dont think it would bode to well for him or his legacy, but thats just the way I see it.

Chagaev is a joke, the guy is new version of Vitali, the guy cant take a **** without injuring something. Valuev is pretty good, and I will agree, Wlad/Valuev would not only be an interesting match, but very popular as well, which would be the biggest Heavyweight title fight in weight and in height, the division has ever seen, and to add the cherry on the cake, further unification if Valuev is given the WBA belt.

Oh yeah, he was a great champion alright, what was it, 2 fights at WBO and 2 fights at WBC? He never even became unified so he's hardly a 'champion', not in the true definition of the word - and even less of a champion when you look at the opposition he faced.

The scorecards thing is bull**** too, I refer you to my previous point about the guys he faced. Drexl hit the nail on the head, the most memorable statistic about VITLAY is that he's 0-2 against the only 2 good fighters he ever faced. One of which wasn't actually very good, and the other one only used to be good.

Yep. I always thought to 'retire' someone you had to actually beat them, not leave the ring in a bloody pulp crying like a little girl.

Vitali retired Lewis. Lewis ran his mouth, hoped Kirk Johnson would win, then when he had to take Vitlai next or be stripped of his title, he retired instead, leaving a $15,000,000.00 offer on the table for the re-match!

But let's not start that thread again. What was your vote in the poll Fighting Weight?

Huh? Valuev is better than Chagaev? Disagree. Chagaev beat him clean, and Virichs. Chageav is a solid #2 or #3 guy right now.

I disagree, it Vitlai KO's Peter, it will not undermine what Wlad did. In the Wlad fight, Peter was in his best shape and came in with a mind frame that he would win.

I didn't vote, because they're all bull**** statistics invented by Klit-ites with an agenda. The most impressive thing I ever saw about VITLAY was the fact that he took that uppercut from Lennox without going down, that was impressive even though it ****ed him up for the rest of the round. Everything else about VITLAY is less than impressive though, especially him making Rahman the 'Klitschkonite' by ducking him 3 (or was it 4) times.

If VITLAY retired Lewis then Rahman DEFINATELY retired VITLAY, and he's only making a comeback now because Rahmans out of the frame.

How do you like your ******ed logic being used against you by the way?

I said what I had to say, but I think the boxing public will have no choice, but to crown Vitali the best Heavyweight of this era, even though he has been 4 years removed.

Never being down on the cards after 3 rounds in any fight is the most impressive to me. Highest KO percentage is a close second.

So if he KO's Peter he's considered better than WALDO? I don't think so personally, and I'm no WALDO lover. It also depends on what you mean by 'this era' obviously, if you're going back to 2003 then Lewis is still the best. If you're going for after that then it has to be WALDO.

It's not that impressive at all if you ask me. I suspect Mayweather has been down on the cards after 3 rounds a few times yet as a boxer he's light years ahead of VITLAY. It's the end result that matters, and in that statistic VITLAY is found wanting. BADLY wanting.
