    This

I never watched the farce vs Tyson, but I did see a clip where Mike had a clean shot, while Jake was turning away and he hit Jake on the shoulder instead of the jaw

I bet canelo is paid to carry him
This makes mayweather v mcgregor look like fight of the century. It's absolutely balls

I made the mistake of watching, since I had netflix. Jake Paul looked like ****. Almost as if throwing a stright punch is still something he hasn't learned.

Used car salesman hearn used to always say Paul or Tommy Fury could never get close to being at the level to fight a British champion, yet he will all over this because his favourite colour is green

Fury v ngannou was a farce, but this is just taking the michael

I have Netflix too, but Thank God it was the early hours of the morning, so I gave it a miss

My dad thinks there was an unwritten agreement with no knockouts, so essentially an exhibition, that's why tyson pulled his punches and also why Jake carried him when he began to fade

No excuse for canelo to do this

Fury vs Paul is a worse fight. While Ngannou had basically no boxing experience at least he had high level combat fighting experience. Paul has fought one legit boxer albeit not a special one. Tommy Fury beat Paul in that fight and Canelo would destroy Jake.

Yup. Tyson had a couple of good connects, then just seemed to stop trying.

And I'm the one who's saying Canelo shouldn't fight him now until Jake proves himself in a World Title Fight. My Career arc has Canelo fighting Jake Paul in 2027 if Paul is a Cruiserweight World Title holder by then.

But that's a far cry from not considering him a "real professional boxer" which is what you're saying. You're all over the place Lance. I'm saying, Canelo shouldn't fight him because it's not for a Title. The whole point of why Canelo wanted to fight at Cruiserweight was for legacy, he wanted to become a Cruiserweight Champion. I see no point in Canelo moving up in weight for non-title fights. That's the disconnect here.

It should be about winning titles and becoming Undisputed, something that no one seems to care about anymore. These same people many whom were GGG fans for years argued that boxing is only about fighting for and winning Titles.

I am a big Canelo hater but even I am shocked this fight seems to be happening. I always thought it would be Canelos retirement fight in a few years but never as an active champion. This is a disgrace to the sport of boxing and will stain his legacy. At least Nganno was the UFC champion and a legit killer. Paul is just a circus fighter.

"But there are weight classes for a reason".

It would be one thing if Canelo was the same size as Jake Paul. And I think that Canelo is good enough to overcome the weight disadvantage and beat Paul despite being a much smaller man. But you're acting like the weight difference isn't significant or that this would be completely one-sided. Missing in this calculus is the massive weight disparity and the fact that Canelo has shown to be much slower and have much more stamina problems when moving up above 168.

I'm just trying to bring ya'll down to earth here. Yes we would expect Canelo to be favored, due to the skill gap, the experience, even the conditioning but the conditioning advantage is negated by Canelo moving up in weight, and Jake proved against Tommy Fury that he can compete against a top contender. Yes he lost but it was close. It was a split decision. That result alone "proved" that Jake can compete and be competitive against a so-called "real" boxer at his weight with a legit boxing pedigree.

There are weight classes for a reasons among actual boxers. Jake Paul is a beginner with one fight of experience against a boxer. The weight discrepancy is not nearly enough to make up for the vast difference in ability and experience.

You know that the least talented of all Fury's family (pillow-fisted Tommy Fury) schooled Paul and comfortably beat him. Tommy Fury is just bigger than Canelo, but Canelo is way more skilled, experienced, hits much harder and is better in every possible other way than poor Tommy.

Canelo would brutally KO Paul, if he doesn't carry him intentionally.

Well, the mma fighter had KO'd everyone and also some good boxers like Miocic who won the Golden Gloves. These were all active opponents.
Paul has beaten old mma fighters and boxers, done better than people thought, but they're all old pickings.

So it's obvious this is worse.

Jake Paul is bigger than Canelo, but he's artificially bulked up, not naturally as big as his brother who even mayweather fought. Jake is more dangerous but smaller.

I highly doubt Canelo doesn't bring him down to a much lower weight if not draino clause him. Paul might accept a draino clause because he wants the fight so bad and is overconfident. But he'd at least accept a significant weight drop. Naturally Paul probably isn't any bigger than Caleb Plant, a 6ft-ish athletic guy that could fight at 168.

Unfortunately I think he has little chance of landing a bomb on Canelo since even very accurate boxers struggle to do it. Canelo will probably easily counter him and get the TKO. But we can hope for the best. Maybe Canelo gets cocky and gets caught.

    This is worse than Fury-Ngannou.

F-N was a farce, a fighter with a great chin but no boxing experience against a guy with no power who would inevitably win on points - which is exactly what happened.

The other thing nobody seems to be mentioning is...
Like or loathe him, Canelo usually gets decent fights made and isn't afraid to challenge himself - where Fury's always been willing to turn up for a payday against a mediocrity without even having trained properly... Weight aside, Canelo should win this without breaking sweat, as long as it's not a stitch up in the contracts.

In other words, Ngannou wasn't out of character for Fury... But Paul is for Canelo.

I'd actually want to see Canelo beat the puppyjuice out of Paul. I knew damn well Fury was gonna stink up the Ngannou fight and he did.
