What is worse for a career - Devastating knockout early , or a beating over 12 rounds

12 round beating is worse, although being knocked out like this does seem to affect a fighter. Duran was never really the same after Hearns, but he proved how good he was to come back and win a title. Hearns never was the same after either Hagler or Barkley. They were good enough that the residual of what they had before the knockout losses was still enough to win titles. Curry won a title from I think Rosi after McCallum, but would lose more and more.
