He won the western trials but his dad wanted him to fight for mexico. I heard from some trainers that he got robbed in the finals against the same guy he beat easy here and that they werent gonna let him make the team there because he was from here. I dunno. btw, he doesnt chose who he fights, his promoter does. results http://assets.teamusa.org/assets/documents/attached_file/filename/7324/2007_Archived_Results.pdf
How would you compare him to an ERISLANY LARA? Do you think he could beat a gate keeper like Alfonso Gomez even though he is inexperienced?
Joshua probably sized up the situation and realized he can't do anything with Pac. He realized what other fighters have realized when they fought Pac. He could turtle up with a UD or open and exchanged blows ending in a KO. He chose to be smart. Not a heroic thing to do but I can't fault him. edit: On second thought I think Joshua tried at some points to trade with Manny. He just can't find Manny.
What are you talking about? Clottey was very effective and successful when he landed, even better then Cotto. The problem wasn't Pac, it was Clottey going into defensive mode most of the round and not throwing. And it wasn't because he was overwhelmed, it was because for some unknown reason Clottey decided not to open up and make a fight. This unknown reason which baffles me is the basis for his style, he has always underperformed even though he showed how good he could be. The fight went this way because of Clotteys choice.. mental weakness.. whatever you want to call it not because of Pacs greatness
How are people saying he couldn't find manny. He landed 1 of 3 punches that he threw, and that stat is landing cleanly, doesn't count landing on arms etc
He wants to get paid of course. I can't believe you actually bought the fight. Everyone knew that PAC was going to win with no struggle. Didn't you find it strange that PAC was making Arum lots of money and suddenly he up against another one of his fighters that can't draw. Clottey simply wanted to get paid and he did.
Clottey seemed to have a good game plan in the opening rounds, Pac looked frustrated and could only land body shots which weren't causing too much damage and Clottey was catching him with right hands, if he had just been a bit more adventurous in his counters, he could have caused real problems for Manny. I don't know what the **** Manny is playing at with this tough guy routine where he's inviting these big welters to hit him.
In the middle rounds pac also started to throw less and hoping for clottey to open up and attack so that he could counter punch him, but clottey just sticked to his plan to survive so he went on whooping him.
