Exactly, a marathon runner might not be able to do under 6 minutes... Different energy systems using different distrobution.
haha i think thats why he said might not. i've seen a few of them you run around a constant 5:19 pace, which to be honest is sick. i can only hold that for 2 miles.
ive done 6min mile building up to the 12min 2miles, dont think I ever managed it though as I struggled on the 2nd mile.
I remember when I was in the Navy I did a mile and a half in 10:08, I didn't run regularly at the time and I smoked back then, but I was only 19 then also.
Ive never timed myself for a 2 mile run and i'm curious now! i run 3 miles in 18 mins though, and we did 16 miles today across the moors, in boots and carrying a 55lb bergen, in 2 hours and 45 mins. quite pleased with myself as i'm 34 and the lads i ran with (my brother and cousin) are 17 and 18! i wanna know what i run 2 miles in now though, i
SupraTT24 This content is protected And plus, 10 miles a day doesn't make your 1 mile two mile and 5k faster. you need to do WORKOUTS such as fartleks, thresholds, tempo's intervals and repeats at a hard work rate. you only do a long run once a week. Actually in terms of general time increase it would, running 10 miles a day would make your body effeicient at running, yes at longer distances but since the you need to run longer distances then 5k to increase you 5k time along with speed work as well.
Interesting Tit Bit, Richard Adams Lt Welter in the 80s, ran the 6th fastest Mile in Britain in 87 Finnishing 4th in the AAAs Championship. If memory serves me right the Time 3mins 53secs .He ran for the Essex Beagles :happy
how do you guys run your 2 miles? I am usually steady for the 1st mile and pick it up in the 2nd with a finishing kick at the end. I think I get that from watching the athletics on tv as a kid.
