George Foreman when he regained the title at 45. The crowd was going ****ing nuts, Ive never seen an atmosphere like that at any other fights, I wish I could have been there when that happened. Morales-Barrera 1 round 5
Round 13 of the St. Valentines Day Massacre La Motta / Robinson VI Probably the most impressive display of heart and determination in boxing history, definately one of the most brutal beatings. "Ray, I never went down."
Foreman knocking out Moorer. I still remember Lampley screaming... "It happened! It happened!" Great stuff. Easily the greatest comeback in sports history. Everyone was rooting for old George. Everyone wanted to see him win. And yet, after every round, that possibility drifted farther and farther away until... a massive right hand in the 10th round made boxing history. I loved it.
Foreman's on opposite sides of my favorites: 1) Ali KO Foreman 74'. Surreal 2) Foreman KO Moorer 96'. 22 years later
either chris eubank on his arse in the 1st round against calzaghe or marco antonio barrera schoolin' naz hamed i may be english but i h8 them 2
When Pavlik won the title. None of my friends really follow boxing but I knew a couple of guys in my dorm who were from Youngstown so they got interested when they found out that Kelly was from there and that they had worked for his dad. Anyways, I had a get together at my house the night of the fight and about 10 of the people from my dorm came. It was great to see everyone freak out when Pavlik got dropped, as well as watch them go nuts when he came back and won.
I know people are hatin' on DLH right now but for me it was the 1992 Olympics. I was sixteen at the time and one year younger than him. He was a Mexican American kid from a neighborhood like mine. Mexico had always had its stars but he wasn't from Mexico, he spoke like people spoke where I lived. He has become a superstar and so people overlook what it meant to have one of our own bring home the gold medal. Many years have passed, the dude has become the richest boxer ever, but as a people we were all very proud of the golden boy in 1992.
If you listen just before the KO someone maybe Lampley say I guess that dispells the myth of Georges Power and bam KO.
Round 12 of Mosley-DLH 1 when they touched gloves midway threw then slugged it out like the Warriors they are in a classic prime for prime battle I got ****ing chills that night.
