George Foreman knocking out Michael Moorer. Became the oldest heavyweight champion and regained the title he lost 20 years earlier to Muhammad Ali.

Frankie Randall against JC Superstar might fit the bill here. Randall had been through some disappointing setbacks in the ring, drug addiction and a jail term just to get the fight against Chavez - his first world title bout at the age of thirty-two. Not to mention he was a 15-1 betting underdog.

He absolutely spanked Chavez, though. Awesome performance in spite of the powers that be doing their best to rob him. Beat him in the immediate rematch, too, albeit on that occasion skullduggery prevailed. But he shocked the world and scaled his own personal Everest in a few ways in that first fight.

Frankie Randall W12 Julio Ceasar Chavez.

I was so inspired by Randall's peformance and his classy interviews before and after the fight that I sat down and wrote a letter to KO right afterwards. I was glad it got published. Still have that issue = June or July 1994.

".....No matter what Randall attains in the future, he showed, on one night at least, what a complete fighter can and should be - highly skilled in the ring, and exhibiting a good attitude outside of it."
