Lewis vs Rahman I. Before the fight I remember thinking Lewis undertrained due to his involvement with Oceans 11. However, I did not think Rahman had the hunger to go for the gusto. Then the fight started and I knew Lewis took him lightly. In fact, if you watch the 5th round, just prior to the KO, you’ll see Lewis smirk when he narrowly avoids Rahman’s previous combination.

Sergio Martinez KO win over Paul Williams in their 2nd fight. In style Martinez proves he's the middleweight king and shuts everyone up. The hype around Williams was getting big and the networks were heavily supporting him. The HBO commentary was so biased for Williams it made you wonder what fight they were watching, the whole fight had this air of waiting to anoint Paul as this unbeatable monster. But when you watch the fight Sergio had total belief he would win, the fight only last 2 rounds but you can see the snap and perfect footwork of Sergio. He had reached that new level that all top Champions do as fighter in the ring. Martinez's team put a crown on Sergio's head after the vicious KO. Sergio was so happy and gracious hugging Williams mid interview. Sergio had finally made it.

Pernell Whitaker winning the title because he did it. And Thomas Hearns beating Cuevas.

I remember that fight, I think, as I saw it live on TV.. Was that the one where Lederman was saying how Williams was dominating and the opposite was true .. I think Lampley, who I don't care for, actually said Harold what fight are you watching ... Maybe different fight because fight I saw lasted more than 2 rounds .. Anyway, I know what you're talking about the HBO bs for Williams

I know the outcome was horrific but for me the fight that stands out has got to be Nigel Benn's victory over Gerald McClellan.

It gives me shivers to think about it, McClellan was rightly labelled a monster and was highly fancied to destroy Benn but people overlooked the fact that Benn was an animal himself.

The whole build up smelt of danger and when Benn came into the arena with the eerie chimes of Big Ben it gave me goosebumps like never before.

Benn stared McClellan straight and true, both looked like caged animals. It's of no surprise that Benn was hurt and knocked out of the ring so early, there's a lot of controversy surrounding the count but he made it back inside the ring before 10. McClellan proceeded to batter Benn for the rest of the round but somehow he survived. I'll never forget the moment Benn nods to his corner as if to "I'm alright don't worry."

Coming into the second round it was just a matter of time before the inevitable happened or so they thought, Benn landed a hard shot which backed McClellan up and made him know he was in a real fight. Benn became the hunter chasing McClellan around the ring landing brutal shots.

I know McClellan was blinking hard early on in the fight but I feel the injury occurred in the 9th round around the time they clashed heads, he went downhill fast after that episode.

The whole situation around the fight and the bout itself gives me the heebie-jeebies, this was not a boxing match it was a fight for survival.

This fight had Kellerman and Emmanuel Stewart. They only called the positive things from Williams. At the time of that great KO Max and Emmanuel are arguing over whether the punch was a left or a right. The scorecards were also for Williams. BS, Sergio was landing cleanly in that 1st round and looking good. It was a competitive round and both guys were throwing very hard shots but Sergio still clearly won it.

Both guys were bombing away. The KO punch I didn't see coming either but both guys entered this fight trying to prove the 1st tough hard fight wasn't going to happen again. Williams was on a tear before this fight. He was really feared and had trouble getting fights only a few years earlier.

Rewatch the fight. Sergio offensive timing was near perfect and he was planting his feet throwing zingers. Near the end of the 1st round Sergio landed 2 crisp straight lefts right in Pauls grill. He was just a tad quicker and Paul fought with the confidence of someone who had never been KOed before. He thought he would weather the early speed and out volume Sergio in the mid rounds.

What surprised me most was Sergio's confidence in this fight. In the 1st fight he got more than he could handle and was pushed to the near brink. During the prefight intros of the rematch you can see how focused he was, he was going to win that fight, even the war of the first didn't deter him. Not many guys can take those tough fights and change the outcome in a second effort. Great showing and he really hit his stride as the true 160 king. Sergio was actually really strong on the inside and didn't give Paul an inch. Martinez is really underrated in this forum. That guy had skills.

Thanks. I remember now. It was Williams Quintana 1 .. Did you see that fight?? .. Hell of a fight..Quintana was giving Williams a boxing lesson and Lederman was saying how Williams was dominating. It was Williams first loss in a UD .. He did TKO Quintana in the rematch
