Argüello vs. Ganigan is really worth watching in its entirety.

Daniel "The Rarámuri Warrior" Ponce de León vs. Antonio "Tony" Escalante is up there:

Escalante was actually on both the giving & receiving end of many highlight reel kayos in his career - a real "kill or be killed" fighter. Unfortunately his post-ring life went off the rails, as we he was arrested twice for driving intoxicated with minors in the car. :ohno

Maybe there's a case for getting hit flush and short-circuited that many times being not so great for one's brain...

And as for the best ones that I've witnessed live, sitting ringside...

Reynaldo López upsetting Mike Oliver (it was televised on ESPN2 Friday Night Fights, so there's footage of it out there somewhere...but I can't find an upload on YouTube/DailyMotion/Facebook, sadly)

Sakio "The Scorpion" Bika vs. Jaidon "The Don" Codrington:

Those were both here in Boston. The best fight I've seen live, though, was Rogers Mtagwa vs. Juan Manuel López in NYC.

According to you, what was Cooper's best punch : the left hook or the right hand ?

I love two Knockout that were two of the greatest 'come from behind' in boxing history (and two F.O.T.Y)

The first is the one that 'Manitas De Piedra' Carbajal inflicted on 'Chiquita' Gonzalez, while he was clearly behind on points and had suffered two knockdowns.

The other is that of Jorge Castro against Jackson. The Argentine was on the ropes and Jackson, clearly ahead on points, seemed to be about to close the match when the Locomotora unleashed the left hook of desperation, which in reality was what allowed him to turn the tide of the fight and confirm himself as WBA world middleweight champion.

I think his sneaky right hand was probably his best punch.
It was hard, and, deceptively quick. It broke Ray Mercer's jaw, and, dropped the iron-jawed Holyfield, among others.

    I agree.
But I can't recall where it was said that his left hook was his hardest punch. Maybe it was McCall who said that.

IDK whether it would feel worse to get hit with Cooper's straight right or his left hook - but I do know the only thing worse than either would be to get hit with both in rapid succession. Just ask Tony Fulilangi. :deal:

Theres so many to pick but if I had to pick 1 it would be Lennox Lewis knocking out Hasim Rahman in the rematch

    What a 1-2

Monzon Koing Benvenuti in their first fight would be 2nd

Not to be a total pedant, but it actually was a 3-2.

(I had also remembered it being a 1-2, but nope. Lennox starts with not a jab but a slapping hook)

The crazy thing is, even with the hook just being a setup for the right hand and not fully turned over properly with Lewis's hips ..you can hear the IMPACT of it just as crisply as the right hand. Maybe the most satisfying double crunch audio from any knockout sequence.

You're right I didn't realize the hook that came before cause the right hand was so viscous
