From the Dela Hoya 24/7 series after he said he was gonna ice Oscar it cuts to him running at 1:30am and he says "I'm the **** talker of the sport. I talk alot of **** so I gotta back it up" and I think that's why I don't read into what he says too much because I know he's just trying to psych himself up and I can respect that.
Actually it is. People often use hyperboles to get their point across. Now obviously that contract was worth a lot of money and really isn't comparable to slave wages. However, it gets the point across that the contract was well below his market value. The average person would be estatic at making $2 or $3 mill per year. However, if you felt that you should be making $7 or $8 mill per year, would you really be happy with getting $2 or $3 mill? Think about this, what if the Cardinals offered Albert Pujols $10 mill per year? Should he be happy with it because it's a lot of money? Of course not, he would scoff at that offer because he's worth $20+ mill a year on the free agent market.
Would Pujols use the same terms like "Im not a maid" or "Im not a Bum" maybe "who do they think I am? a Rookie?"... Like I said.I was talking about what they said regarding millions of dollars. Stop reading between the lines.. Calm down.
I'm not upset in the least bit. I'm just explaining that Mayweather actually turned out to be right when he complained about that contract. I don't know what Pujols would say, but if he complained about an offer that was below market value, he would be justified.
Again, this thread is not about who is right or wrong. your going way over board... Just stick to Quotes buddy. :good
Yeah, but you didn't stick to the quote. You compared him to Sprewell, which was incorrect in my opinion. If you don't want side convos, then maybe you should take your own advice and stick to the quotes.
