Yes Mr Bill I was thrilled when Duran beat Moore. At the time i thought Duran was done and Duran is my All time favorte. Back to best fights as a young fan Chacon/Limon was the first real life Rocky fight i ever saw and ive seen many great fights since then but that one will always be in my mind and HEART!
I'm a 'Duran' psycho....... No shame at all.......... Benny Leonard at 135, yeah, he can eat his heart out.................. Duran is my man at 135 and beyond............. Peace... MR.BILL
1. Marco Antonio Barrera vs Erik Morales I Two prime, great Mexican warriors going toe to toe for 12 rounds during their respective primes. As good as this game gets, as good as sports gets...period. 2. Alexis Arguello vs Aaron Pryor I Wonderful clash of styles, Pryor lands his flurries, Alexis lands the odd bomb that would render any ordinary fighter out unconscious. An opening round to rival Hagler/Hearns. 3. Diego Corrales vs Jose Luis Castillo I In-fighting at its most brutal, both fighters landing with regularity, with one of the most dramatic, come from behind stoppages in Boxing history. 4. Yaqui Lopez vs Saad Muhammad II Even better than the original, furious ebb and flow, with Saad weathering the storms, and coming back with hard shots of his own. Great, competitive, slugfest. 5. Roberto Duran vs Iran Barkley A beautiful performance by the old veteran, landing right hands at will, overcoming insurmountable odds to dethrone the much bigger, fresher, champion in Iran Barkley. HM: Aturo Gatti vs Ivan Robinson 1, Bert Cooper vs Michael Moorer, Michael Carbajal vs Humberto Gonzalez I, Muhammad Ali vs Joe Frazier I & III, Marco Antonio Barrera vs Kennedy Mckinney, Riddick Bowe vs Evander Holyfield I
Used to be Leonard-Duran I, which is still the 'best' fight ever fought imo. A man's fight. Since then sentimentality has stricken. At the moment it is either either Barrera-Morales I or Duran-Barkley. These fights move me. ...I'm such a big fat girl.
I know some of you will groan at this as anyone with a passing knowledge of boxing will say this but i really think Ali-frazier 3 takes some beating. Ok, skillwise its not up with the 1st fight, but for sheer doggedness, toughness and outright brutality, it takes some licking.
Well said, that is my favourite fight of all-time as well if I had to pick just one. Some other fights I tend to watch regularly would be: Eduardo Lausse vs Gene Fullmer Ralph Dupas vs Charley Scott IV Jose Stable vs Stanley Hayward, Charley Scott Gaspar Ortega vs Federico Thompson Kenny Lane vs Carlos Hernandez Paolo Rosi vs Lenny Matthews Carmen Basilio vs Gil Turner Florentino Fernandez vs Rocky Rivero I&II Dick Tiger vs Jose Gonzalez Joey Giardello vs Randy Sandy Willie Pastrano vs Gregorio Peralta I&II Niccolino Locche vs Paul Fuji Carl Olson vs Randy Turpin Jake LaMotta vs Bob Murphy II Chung Il Choi vs Rolando Navarette Luis Rodriguez vs Federico Thompson Holley Mims vs Joey Archer Isaac Logart vs Jorge Fernandez II Kid Gavilan vs Johnny Bratton II Ralph Tiger Jones vs Tony Baldoni Harold Johnson vs Doug Jones Ruben Olivares vs Chucho Castillo I Fighting Harada vs Pone Kingpetch I Joe Frazier vs Oscar Bonavena II Carlos Monzon vs Bennie Briscoe II
Some favorites: Bowe/Holyfield I Ali/Frazier I Trinidad/Vargas Leonard/Hearns I Hagler/Hearns Leonard/Duran I
