On that note, it's sad to hear what has happened with Taylor's personal life. I'm not up to date on it but last I heard it didn't sound good.
It's because of his flaws and how he finds a way to compensate 90% of the time that endears him to the fans, he is always going to get whacked by the other guy but he can take it.
According to who . Brook and hearn? Or some uk site? LOl Wasn't Gavin/Brook a title fight? If it wasn't you're right he wouldnt take it, but I'm pretty sure the IBF title was on the line. Yes, when is the last time Marquez fought? The dude is nearly in his mid 40's LOL! and he's coming off a bad injury, he's over.
Pascal - was a FOTY contender and he defeated someone that went on to establish themselves as top 5 in the next division up for years.
I liked the Taylor fight. That was the classic Froch fight. The guy fought like he was a caveman with a club.
Jermaine Taylor - probably the most exciting final round I have ever seen. TV over here didn't even pick up the fight!!
Yes Brook and Gavin was a title fight. And that's because Gavin was the top ranked contender with the IBF. Rios wasn't ranked until June 6th so wouldn't be permitted a title shot unless they got special permission from the IBF which takes several weeks, and being that they only had 5 weeks anyway how many weeks out do you think they need to make an agreement being that Rios has stalled for much longer than 5 weeks now. The last time Marquez fought was about 2 weeks before Froch- Froch has been out with a bad injury and is only 3 years younger than Marquez :think
As great as KO'ing Groves in front of 80,000 fans was, I've got to go with the Taylor fight. I remember watching the entire fight and wasn't even going to bother listening to the score cards when announcing the winner as I had Taylor winning a decent UD until Froch came out of nowhere. Sorry, typo - "80,000 fans at WEMBLEY"... How could I leave that part out? Silly me.
