He, like Marquez, has some pretty exciting wins. The come from behind win against Taylor was great, him outboxing Kessler in the rematch was sending out a message he wasn't one dimensional anymore and had upped his game, but yeah, Groves 2 without a doubt. He should retire on a high note.

Did he outbox Kessler in the rematch? That's strongly worded, IMO. They boxed and brawled and fought on vaguely even terms. I remember having it a bit closer than most. It was definitely not one-sided, and Froch didn't ever outbox Kessler the way he did, say, Abraham..

I can't believe I didn't vote for that fight. I loved Froch's will and determination in that one.

:good And probably a good way of assessing both fighters throughout their careers where Froch would always finish fights strongly and more often than not get back in.....Pascal the opposite where he would let opponents back in.

The Bute fight was a big turning point for Froch

People who tried to argue Froch v Ward rematch would be huge in the UK need to take into account that is when Froch first really got noticed by casual fans in the UK- which occurred after Ward- so it's not like 80,000 people would want to see a rematch because they most likely didn't even see the first fight.

    Froch vs Dirrell.

Although I had Andre winning on my card by a single point (7-5 -1), I was very happy they gave it to Froch. It was such a negative performance of Dirrell I didn't think he deserved to get anything out of that.

Although I agree with your comment on British judging, it's safe to say US judging is just as bad and I also didn't see anything like a "schooling" in that fight. Both sucked carrots on a sunday morning in that one.

Schooling to me is when one guy CLEARLY out lands someone and makes the other guy shadow box all night. The brits have the worst officiating and judges.
