What is your favourite Nigel Benn fight?

Lou Gent fight was the most exciting.

 

I also quite liked the Reggie Miller and Robbie Sims fights. Huge shot out of nowhere and killer finishing.

gone barkley, don't feel right voting for mccellan fight.

 

Pretty much how I feel on it. Also his destruction of the blade is massively underrated.

 

I think the barkely and DeWitt fights were great wins to get him back to where he was. Also i have too say although he lost the 1st eubank fight it was a great fight to watch

 

McClellan and by a distance, if that didn't end in tragedy the action would be shown so much more.

Benn also said a few things that didn't go down well at the time, firstly McClellan had collapsed in his corner, Benn obviously didn't know how serious it was and was gesturing over towards McClellan shouting "Who cares, Who cares...." You can just catch that bit when he starts to be interviewed by Gary Newbon if you can get the British broadcast.

Also on his way out of the hospital Benn was asked by reporters for a comment on McClellan and Benn said "rather him than me..."

Add in the fact McClellan was a scumbag who was involved in dog fighting and it was all too unsavoury for TV at the end, it wasn't family friendly but Benn's performance that night was unbelievable, you would have to research McClellan (if you're too young to remember him) to see just how exceptional he was so for Benn to do what he did that night makes it special.

Benn was never the same after that fight, it took every bit of fighter out of him in my opinion.

I still maintain Benn would have beaten anybody that night. It really was a once in a lifetime performance.

Don King and all of the US came for the WBC super middle belt. Benn wasn't given a chance.

Even when he won they still *****ed and moaned about rabbit punches , which was complete *******s.

McClellen was simply a horrible bully who was also cheap and got rid of the best coach ever and hired a complete cokehead bum for a corner man.

Watch on youtube the US commentary at no point did they give Benn any chance.

**** em , and also if it was Benn who was injured Mclellen would not have come over and given him 250k.

Nigel showed what a TRUE fighter is made of when the chips are down. That's that grit that can't be taught or bought. Tragic ending, but this is the name of the game.

There hasn't been a British fighter with the combination of toughness, grit, excitement and admiration from the british public since! My favourite British fighter ever and always will be. Legend!

His fight with Barkley was awesome, too. Benn looked ferocious in there! Iran, who I've always thought was a good guy, didn't know what hit him! he took some punishment that night.

I'd have loved for Benn to have crossed paths with either Hearns or Jackson. Slugfests!
