What is your favourite Sal Sanchez fight and why?

Battle of the Little Giants.

I don't think Gomez took Sanchez seriously for some reason.

Then Sal just drilled him.

 

I popped a woody when underdog Sanchez KO'd Gomez in Puerto Rico in '81...... Great stuff there..... Rumors claim that Gomez was *****-whipped going into the fight, but that's just talk..... Salvador Sanchez kicked major league ass......

I'd say Nelson, a overall terrific fight up until the stoppage. I love how Sal adjusted in the middle half and Nelson showed his potential that night.

 

My fave Sanchez fight was his match with Patrick Ford. Ford used his height and reach to build an early lead. Then Sal put a savage body attack on him. You could see the fight being sapped out of Ford with every dig to the midsection.

 

His brutal pasting of wilfredo gomez has to rank as my favorite. "Bazooka" underestimated sanchez, took a terrible beating and was never the same afterwoods.

 

Either Gomez or Nelson.

Gomez was the bigger fight at the time, and more fast-paced. However, Nelson was more dramatic IMO.

 

Lopez 1 as it was the first fight i seen of Sal and it was an amazing fight and i loved Sals skills and maturity for his age against Lopezs aggresion and strength

 

The Gomez fight was a complete shock. Sanchez usually boxes his opponents & goes the distance. Against Gomez he came out the aggressor & stunned Gomez & never let up, giving Gomez a beating.

 

Then Howard Cosell questioning Ford's stamina during the commentary!

 

I thought he looked fantastic against Juan LaPorte, a guy who it was not that easy to look good against.

 

Probably the Gomez fight, he justs gives Wilfredo a serious beating, though it was not totally one-sided.

I was seriously impressed with the Cowdell fight.

He took on a very, very good fighter who imo fought the best fight of his career, and still had the little bit of special that gave him the edge.

That final round knockdown in an even fight still gives me shivers.

 

Gomez was the best one for me,I really liked the cowdell fight aswell
