What is your favourite venue to watch boxing? Personally, I prefer arenas rather than stadiums. However, the Principality Stadium in Cardiff is a great venue and has the retractable roof which is an added bonus! Ranking Today's Iconic Boxing Venues
I don't have a specific place but I do like intimate places like the smaller Indian casinos in America.
The best venue I’ve been to is probably Wembley arena. The actually place is a but of a dump but from where I sat I got a really good view. Maddison Square garden or the MGM Grand are probably better but I won’t know until I hopefully one day visit those famous venues. Going to watch a boxing match in a stadium though sucks. There isn’t a good view in the entire stadium and its freezing. You only go to a stadium fight for the atmosphere because you can barely see the fight.
I got to see a solid tear up in a gym a couple months ago, I was the only spectator (well, I was supposedly working out but I gave up the pretense by the end) and that was cool. Been to MSG as well and I enjoy it there, but somewhere that is too big to be personal but not big enough to be anonymous is a weird middle ground for me. Even at MSG it feels like someone near you is always connected to one of the fighters, so you feel a little awkward if you have something negative to say. Boxing is such a small world.
I never disappear. I’ve made plenty of wrong predictions in the past and I’ve taken the banter like a man! Lol.
Was up in the gods at MSG for the Lewis v Holyfield fight, not the best of views but a cracking atmosphere. Most fights i have seen live took place at the Manchester Arena. For close proximity you can`t beat York Hall
Not a good place to actually watch boxing as you need to pay hundreds/thousands for a good view, but Wembley Stadium's atmosphere for big fights is incredible. The place was rocking for Fury vs Whyte last April. Actual good places to watch boxing would be any number of smaller arenas that hold a max of like 15k people.
Happens to us all. Sometimes it’s forgotten in todays era but there really is a reason why they have to go in and fight. Too much is made these days of mythical match ups, H2H etc, and paying someone well to fight someone we don’t have any interest in.
I've been to a dozen fights. The smaller the venue, the better. And ringside seats aren't the best because you can't see anything if they go to the opposite corner. The best seats are behind ringside seats and are elevated. I saw Cotto-Foreman at Yankee Stadium. I was in the bleachers basically watching ants. Big mistake. I saw Edwin Rodriguez fight in a banquet hall and it was crazy hearing the hard breathing and grunting that's drowned out by big venues and crowds.
