Well what I teach my boxers is what I like to call the "basketball" move, similar when you are driving to the buket and want to shake and bake your defender...counterstep, right go left, acnhoring yhour lfet hook to the body, as you go low....

Step in and pivot out. Either that or clinch and turn.

Throw a straight right, then follow up with a "shoving/clothesline type hook" and spin out with your rear foot pivoting on the ball of your front foot. Then sidestep, then drop back to the center of the ring.

Fighting off of the ropes is great. Guys get reckless and if you have a good jab and uppercut it is like a counter punch buffet. LOL.

I agree many times during sparring for me i would just paw my jab about and wait for the guy to punch me, usually when your up against the ropes people do tend to get sloppy and try to go all out, if you are quick, you can find just the right time to slip in an uppercut, hold and spin out.

But to be fair, if you arent a natural counter puncher this will be hard

Sometimes I'll jab moving to my left, and alternate between jabbing and pushing with my left hand.

Push up on their rear elbow and spin off or push down on their lead shoulder and spin off, puts them off balance.

Since we are talking LAST resorts... Why not clinch? I find it strange that nobody ever talks about this and you even see seasoned pros who can't seem to do it.

Shoot into that fool and throw your rear arm under his arm and bring it up to your temple and then take your lead arm and put it over and hook his arm in a (headlock) arm lock. Hold on till someone yells break.

Clinching is a skill every Boxer needs. If you are stuck for 15 seconds? WTF! You are long since out of options.
