what is your most favorite boxing match you"ve ever seen?

It's not just the excitement factor, Duran-Leonard I is just better in every way all the way through. SRL is so lethargic for most of the Hearns fight, yes it was an interesting tactical battle and it swung back and forth, but leaving aside tactics I thought it was a strange and unsatisfying fight. I can never understand why Leonard is so languid, I just didn't enjoy that fight. Maybe that's just me though. SRL fights like a ****ing demon in the 1st Duran fight!!

Great victory over a monster unbeaten ATG but I personally think Ray lost some speed of hand & foot coming back down from 154 (Kalule fight) & I personally think he never looked better than in the 2nd Duran fight tho as a pure technical boxer (not relying on athleticism) he looked great v Benitez.

**** !.... I thought he was much better looking vs Hagler than Hearns TBH tho I`ll probably get ass ****ed for that comment.

 

I honestly think he was much better in the first Duran fight than in the first Hearns fight! Work that one out! :nut

 

He was, I think Duran`s style never gave Ray enough `thinking` time & SRL is at his best when out-thinking opponents, matching wits, chess game ****.
Hearns just had a big lanky awkward boxing style that Ray had no choice but to try out-think him & box him from outside, inside, anything to make a break thru.
I thought he fought with a lions heart & courage in both fights but vs Roberto he let his instincts take over & he still looked great - should have maybe did that more often - he just met a man who was a master at that sort of fight & who just happened to be putting on his greatest performance to date.

I think the Leonard from fight 2 UDs the Duran of fight 1 tho, close but clear, the size, reach & movement would be decisive.

That was a great fight. I like the one (Bowe - Holyfield II or III ?) where that crazy ******* hang glided into the ring and got beat with a flashlight. Priceless.

It switches regularly between those two for me. Skill, determination, heart. How well can you fight and how long can you last with the beast of a man in front of you?

You know, while it matters to the fighters, it doesn't even matter to me who wins in the end. I'm just humbled by what these fighters show.

Floyd Mayweather Jr has never lost, but he has also never moved me the way Leonard did in a losing effort against Duran. Floyd Mayweather Jr is a very healthy and primed fighter right now while Erik Morales is shot to hell, but I've seen where he left the pieces and am honored to have done so.

God, these are special men we get to watch.

 

Ali vs Frazier. I like heavyweights. The build-up is second to none and the fight itself lives up to any expectation. I'm talking about their first bout, of course.

Runner up...Frazier decking Ali in the 15th at MSG ( thriller in Manila they were both past prime)

I have never ever seen two top Heavyweights exchange like Bowe and Holyfield did from opening bell to last as they did in 1992.

Round 10 alone was better than any one round in the Ali/Frazier fights, and I think it got off to a really fast start and never let up.

Don't get me wrong, those fights are just as good for different reasons, but I don't think the continuous action seen in the first fight Holyfield/Bowe fight has ever been surpassed in the Heavyweight division, at least not in a world title fight.

No fight "blows" Holyfield/Bowe 1 away. :bart

 

That was their second fight. Another great fight, but Bowe was really out of shape and couldn't fight at the level of intensity he had just one year earlier.
