For me it was Tyson vs Douglas. I saw some vulnerability in Tyson before the match, but Douglas performance was something no one expected or predicted outside of his home town news paper in Ohio.

The fight was great, and the ending dramatic. 50 years from now, this fight will still be talked about. Its what heavyweight boxing should be but seldom is.

This is my pick as well. I still to this day marvel at how Duran was able to win that fight, given the body punches Barkley was landing. I watch it 4-5 times a year, just because I can. :good

I know. Unfortunately heavyweights haven't fought like that in a very long time.

Loved it, just got a sublime feeling from watching Duran's long term plan pull him through by a shade.

Reminded me of Steve McQueen and Edgar G Robinson in 'The Cincinnati Kid', with the old man showing he's still got it.

Do you think that Douglas in that form could have hung with any of the greats on that night . Insert anybody besides a disappointing Tyson

Unknown. Marciano vs LaStarza II is one of them.

Its was like the more the Rock got hit , the stronger and better he became. Great fight.

    Edit.
Wlad vs Snaders is a belter.

Those were HWs from the golden era . Heavyweights nowadays are not from their cloth .
