Easily Spinks. At that time, it was a really good victory. Undisputed champion, un-jinxer of the Jinx, big time. I'd like to say the Zab Judah who fought Cotto was probably the best Zab we've seen. He was in great shape and motivated for that fight. He didn't back down, even took several low blows.
Paris. He really is not a great fighter. I think he can beat Garcia, because I think Garcia is more limited than people think.
1 - Spinks 2 2 - Matthysse 3 - Witter (imo) IF hes able to win against Garcia (huge if) then Id probably put that at 3.... considering the context. If he squeeks out a win, ill have it at 3.... if he dominates and/or stops Garcia, ill put it above the Matthysse fight just because that was basically an even fight, imo.
Just don't understand at all how anyone who has followed Judahs career could call Paris his signature win. He beat Spinks in his backyard, avenging a loss, became undisputed, and was the only person to soundly defeat Spinks when Spinks was prime, a spinks who later went up and boxed competitively with a prime Jermain Taylor, losing a close decision. Makes little sense, imo.
He said when he got the call to fight Cotto, he was blocks away from his house... he said he accepted the fight (its the one he wanted most), stopped what he was doing and ran all the way home to start training immediately. Was a great version of zab.
Wouldn't have changed much, imo. Maybe he wins a few more rounds but I still see him getting broken down and stopped down the stretch. Cotto was at his peak and was a beast that night. Great fight that was.
Spinks The Millet win is over looked, but Millet was very dangerous and highly regarded at the time. Ditto with Jan Bergman, although he wasn't quite the same after Kostya punished him. While Micky Ward wasn't championship level, Judah fought one of his most disciplined fights to completely shut Ward out. One of the few fights where Judah didn't get frazzled and stayed focused even after tasting some hurtful shots.
