The International Boxing Federation (IBF) is continuing its process to define a contender for heavyweight champion Andre Ward (31-0-0, 15 KO). the Montrealer Artur Beterbiev (No. 2 IBF - 11-0-0, 11 KOs) saw a third consecutive rival deny the IBF's invitation to face it in a playoff match.

The American Sean Monaghan (No. 5 IBF - 28-0-0, 17 KO) preferred to pass his turn. The German boxer Enrico Koelling (No. 6 IBF - 22-1-0, 6 KO) is the next boxer. He has until January 13 to respond to the invitation of the IBF.

In case of refusal, Cuban Sullivan Barrera (No. 7 IBF - 18-1-0, 13 KO) is the next in contention.

Beterbiev whant to fight but no-one to step in.
