 I wouldn't be surprised if he pulled that ****. What the dude needs to understand is that you don't get points simply for being cagy and surviving. He seems to think that because he's fighting at a much higher level than 95% of fighters his age past or present, that he should be given the benefit of the doubt in close rounds and given credit for being over 40 and not getting knocked out. It's clean punching, defense, effective aggressiveness and ring generalship, Bernard you *******. That means that mathematically speaking, if you lose 4 of the first 6 rounds and then only win 3 of the last 6, you've lost the fight no matter how strongly you came on at the end (unless you scored a knockdown). It's not one giant 36 minute round, it's broken up into fractions of 12 shithead.

I don't know. Has Pavlik ever been in a wrestling match with a bigger fighter before? I honestly don't know. It will be an interesting test for him, because he's talking about moving all the way up to HW before his career ends.

I don't think Pavlik has ever been in with someone who holds as much as Hopkins (I can't think of any other fighter that holds that much). But, I think his size should help him deal with it.

I don't doubt that if anyone can figure out a way to win it would be Hopkins, but how do you see him overcoming Pavlik's workrate enough to win a decision? He'd have to have multiple knockdowns.

Hopkins could be pissed off about losing to JC and be looking for a swansong and maybe, maybe be driven by anger in this match and not just money - thus not running out of steam in the 5th/6th.

I see it going the distance. Probably a Pavlik decision, but I don't think Pavlik will cope with Hopkins as well as Joe did. It will be a good test at adaptability to Bernard's "style"

190? More like 180 max. He was 181 for the Tarver fight and probably a bit lighter for the Winky and Calzaghe fight.

No chance in hell he was lighter than Calzaghe on fight night. Did you see the difference in size between the two? Calzaghe walked in at 183. Hopkins declined to be weighed.

I didn't realize that Calzaghe weighed in at 183 come fight time. If that's true, then Hopkins might've been close to 190. But i still don't think so. Maybe 183 or so. The guy struggles to put on weight.

He looked pretty monstrous that night, a much bigger physique than Calzaghe. I'll bet the difference will be even greater with Pavlik, who's so small-framed. It's not going to be like trading with Taylor at 166.

I think you're overexagerrating Hopkins' size. Taylor fought Hopkins and he looked like the bigger/stronger man. And Taylor fought Pavlik and they seemed equal. I don't think Pavlik will have much trouble going up a few pounds. He's a work out freak like Hopkins but if he wanted too, i think he can easily add weight the right way like Hopkins did.

But Taylor was at 160. Hopkins had a completely different build then. I agree though that Pavlik's work ethic will allow him to add weight the right way. It should be interesting to see the two at the weigh-in.

Im just curious about the ref. What if there is a ref that gives hopkins the ruiz treatment and doesnt let him hold ? I think without holding Hopkins doesnt go 6 rounds. What do you guys think ?
