    AJ has said he has more trouble with shorter opponents that shell up like Ruiz and Povetkin.

    That’s why I said if he learns the style that Emanuel Steward forced on Lewis and Klitschko where it protected their chins against shorter opponents afterwards.. Samuel Peter was able to drop Wlad 3 times early on while he was still learning it but once he mastered it it was almost impossible for shorter guys to get to that chin especially behind that consistent powerful stiff jab..

    It would help but Ruiz is far better than Peter was and his hands are far quicker too.

    Good stuff. And with all the popping of tests lately...there may be no legit contenders for Ruiz LOL!

    As for AJ...Just turned 30, doubt he's become so bad all of a sudden he should no longer be picked to beat anyone in the top 10.
    IMO that is a disservice or diss to the skill level Ruiz has.
    Side note-
    Although Holmes wasn't fat, I remember quite a few downing him because he didn't have that physique of Ali, Liston, Williams, Witherspoon or the up n coming Tyson. Yet He ruled for quite a while.

    Ruiz is no Holmes but he is just now writing his legacy. Who knows maybe AJ is clean & Ruiz is on something! :coleman: If James "cheeseburger:eatingburger" Tony got stripped for banned substance, then all bets are off on who isn't on anything.

    AJ doesn't have a long term contract with DAZN. DAZN's contract is with Matchroom. Even if AJ loses, he is still a good fighter. Sometimes a matchup is poor. Doesn't mean that they are finished. I absolutely think that AJ can rebuild. I still think AJ/Wilder will fight for the unified title next year. AJ will beat Ruiz this time. Just a bad night on the last go.
