well the head coach appointed me as 'the conditioning coach' at my gym since i know more about that part of training

i usually have the boys do sprints, bodyweight circuits etc

what other ideas are there? i was thinking of finding a tire and a sledge hammer for some sledge work but thats gotta be done one at a time, i need some more ideas for group training.

I'm gonna have to say it again :nut www.crossfit.com Take a look at some of the WODs, there are some really good workouts and it's fun to try and finish first.

Congrats on being named that it sounds pretty cool. I do alot of running of course I perfer jogging at a fairly slow pace for a bit then sprinting and mix in side to sides and backwards to get a real nice well rounded run in. I do alot of my ab work with medicine balls usually the heaviest one I can find in the bucket at the gym. I dont screw much with weights anymore I do mainly calisthenics, pylometrics. I skip alot these days its the best way to get my lazy ass breaking a sweat.

Since I do wrestling along with boxing, I usually run 2 miles as a warmup, wrestle around for 5 mins. Then do Track workouts

    4-400 meter runs
    3-300 meter runs
    2-200 meter runs
    1-100 meter run

and then 1 cool down jog

Ever thought of doing lil relay competitions? Makes it a lil more exciting for the fighters along with putting in some great conditioning

    You don't always need weights.

    100 Pull-Ups
    100 Push-Ups
    100 Sit-Ups
    100 Squats

Getting "ripped" isn't all that easy to do because you need the right kind of body. The potential is all in the genes. Having said that, you don't get ripped or in "boxing shape" by sitting on your ass. In bygone decades boxing shape was a term to describe the ability to go 15 hards rounds. You don't need to be ripped to go 15 rounds, but you sure as hell need a high level of fitness. Now that its only 12 rounds you would think that more people would be in top shape. History has shown that the change only created a higher level of laziness.

I wasn't talking about getting ripped. I was commenting on how you don't need weights to train.

Oh ok, was a bit confused on your post xD. I also agree on the laziness though, my coach says I only need to be able to do 3 2 minute rounds, but why? I should be training to go to war, not training to do the bare minimum

To a large degree your training should be specific to the competitive events you intend to enter. Of course there is also the issue of how much time and effort you have for training. It is not for me to agree or disagree with your coach, but his advice might be tailored to what he thinks you can do or what he thinks you are willing to do. I know from experience that if you try to drive kids too hard in the gym they will spend most of their time thinking up reasons why they should stay home! :yep

Again I agree, a high level of fitness will do you no harm, and pushing yourself in training will eventually show rewards.
