Idk. Juan looked so pudgy and slow. I think the move up in weight the first time was too much to handle, and he didn't know how to move up in weight.

beating the #2 pound for pound doesnt mean much if you that much above him in size and strength.... chavez sr was pound for pound # 1 for a long time at 140 and 147 roy jones was # 2 at 168 pound for pound
what do you think what have happened if they fought? or even if chavez fought terry norris only 1 divison up? norris slaughters him....and would be given no credit...so anyone who thinks mayweather needs to be given props for a fight where he was the overwhelming favorite...and to be honest..i cant think of anyone in the boxing world picking jmm to win that

Not sure, although one thing I think that does need to be said, is that Marquez worked the weight better against Manny. When he fought Floyd he just look fat and slow. Against Manny I believe his strength and conditioning was vastly superior. That said this was more about style than size. Floyd was just a bad style match up for JMM.

Marquez is a counter puncher, now he tried fight within the confines of his own style, only problem is......Mayweather is also a counter puncher, but is a counter puncher with a good defense, and he has superior physical dimensions in reach, so it was always gonna be a big ask for Marquez.

The way Manny struggled didn't surprise me THAT much, although I didn't think he'd lose, although I know he won officially, because I thought we saw evidence in the Cotto, Marquez 2 fight, which wasn't that long ago, that whilst Manny had improved, he was still vulnerable to a counter puncher who sits back and looks to bring him onto the shots.

That same lightweight beat Pac. It's not like Marquez grew into a monster. He was the same marquez who just had a great gameplan and executed. If he was walking Pac down eating his punches like skittles then you can say Pac fought beast Marquez.

Mayweather would be an overwhelming favorite over anyone up to 154 lbs.

Does that mean none of his wins are good?

he should have knocked him out in 2 rounds....a featherweight of 13 years

floyd should hatton he wasnt a welter and sent him back to 140
he couldnt send a 135 pound veteran (with on 2 fights even there) out with the same message?

you just said BEATING A GUY YOU ARE A BIG FAVOURITE AGAINST ISN'T IMPRESSIVE. So that means almost every win floyd, PAC, Ali, foreman, Frazier, Duran, hearns and the list goes on aren't impressive. Who's the ass clown now?

Floyd has 3 fights at welter before he went up and beat De La Hoya for the WBC 154 crown.

He had no fights whatsoever at 135 when he went up and beat Castillo for the WBC 135 crown.

He had one fight at 147 before picking up the IBF title, and only 2 fights before becoming the undisputed welterweight champ.

Seems Floyd doesnt have the same trouble going up and fighting above him.

Mosely had 32 fights at lightweight and 2 fights at welter against mediocre ok opposition before beating ODLH for the 147 title.

Not every one has massive problems going up iun weight and winning

Only idiots would bring up the "HE SHOULD KO OR IT'S NO WIN" excuse when you have nothing else to back up your baseless excessive hormone negativity.

He didn't agree to the contracted weight. He had every advantage even before the fight.
