Obviously, he was an exciting warrior. He was certainly not a slugger. I wouldn't call him a boxer puncher either since he wasn't really known for his power. Would you call him a "pressure fighter"?
actually, i would classify him as a boxer puncher. he had damn fine power in his prime and even when he wasn't knocking people out, he had enough of a punch to hurt his opponents, wear them down and take them on points. he had fine skills but he wasn't there to win a decision: he was there to hurt people
It really does depend on who he was fighting. He was versatile enough to fight his opponent's fight and talented enough to always pull through at the end. If I had to put a title on him it'd be effective aggressor.
Skilled brawler. But he certainly has some pretty decent stand up boxing ability. He has enough power to fill puncher criteria of the boxer-puncher I reckon. But his skills, especially defensively see him fall short of fitting this mould IMO. I think truly elite fighters like Erik dont always adhere to a specific type of fighting..they can do a bit of everything, thats why they got where they did.
he is a mother****ing LEGEND, he has a W against Pac too, plus he fights like a real man should..... miss him in his prime ......wow just ****ing wow my second favvorite fighter ever
Like someone mentioned.... A PURE BADASS!! Worst thing you could do was try and hurt him. Then &&&& you up. Remember Chavez hurting him in first round. Poor *******.. Or Manny Pac trying to fight him?? Balls bigger then Mayweathers head. Andrey
+1 Eric could outbox you - but he wasn't there to do that. He wanted to ****ing hurt you. IMO, he definitely has better boxing skills than Barrera and Marquez. Maybe even Chavez too...
Terrific fighter.A true gladiator in the most positive sense. He had monstrous courage plus the ability and fortitude to back it up.He's greatly missed.
Well-Rounded. He could do it all and do it all well. Terms like "Action Fighter" and "Mexican Warrior" tend to get thrown around a lot, but fit him perfectly.
