Because he'll be paying himself a salary from Matchroom's turnover before profits/losses are even looked at.

A lot of businesses lose money on paper, but the owner still draws himself a hefty salary beforehand.

    It's common practice.

Frank's business may have been losing money the last few years but Ii doubut his salary has dipped and he probably runs everything via the company like his cars to save on Tax.

Looks like Frank ****** and Box Nation are fighting back..

Everybody think Sky and Eddie Hearn are the dominating force, long term is this really how it will pan out..?

Boxnation is building all the time.

BoxNations long term ability to suceed depends on Sky. Thats the reality of the situation.

    Why..?

It does not it relies on becoming its own brand, which it is successfully slowly doing!

If SKY were to pull out of boxing or reduce the number of "fight nights" across the year, then BoxNation reaps the benefit.

    1. The more Boxing fans, the more subscribers BoxNation gets. Without Sky backing the sport will dwindle into obscurity. The more fans that come into the sport via Sky coverage
    2. Look at who BoxNation are pushing right now to get subscribers. Mayweather. Mayweather became a big name in this country fighting on...Sky Sports.

Surely that would be the "Monopoly" Frank is so adamant should not happen?

In the short term yes but long term BoxNation needs Sky/Terrestrial to be big on Boxing.

You would think he trousered a nice profit on Saturday. I noticed Derry Matthews said (post-fight interview with iFilm) that he fought for 'pennies' and if he is to fight Crolla again they would need to double or trouble the money. i wonder how much Crolla and Matthews got for their fight.....

based on what we do know about actual fighters purses from similar fights in the past it would be between 15-20k each. they can boost that with ticket sales and sponsorship obviously.

Mayweather transcends the sport. He is a big name in this country because he is a crossover superstar.

BoxNation is able to spend all it's revenue on buying a fight or winning a purse bid. They can outbid sky and Matchroom for fights.
