What kind of positive exposure does broadcasting @ Times Square provide, if any?

Just wondering about the NYC fanbase, if such a thing still exists.

Bute-Froch will be shown live in Times Square, on a giant screen Saturday night.

My question is, with the assumption that Bute gets past Froch, will the NYC sports media use the Times Square broadcast even remotely to help the cause of a Ward-Bute fight at Madison Square Garden in December/January?

Bute is not well known in the US, starting with the NYC market could be a viable idea... and Ward is an all-American athlete, I'm sure the New York crowd can relate to him in one way or the other.

3 belts on the line, proper build up, thousands from QC driving down to NYC... could be as big as Cotto-Margo II, IMO.

    Anyone from NYC on ESB?

New York City boy, born and bred. While walking through Times Square to MSG for the Cotto-Margarito fight, the Chisora vs Helenius fight was playing on the big screen. My buddies and I watched for about a round, but it is so busy in the Square you move on.
This is more of an advertising ploy as opposed to anyone really watching the whole fight. It is Epix way of getting their name out in the public. Many advertisers use this board. As I said,as far as anyone actually going down to Times Square to watch the whole fight-no way.
Safe trip tonite and enjoy the Nottingham experience.:hi:

hugely positive exposure. over a million people walk through times square on a given day. it's considerably less on a weekend but it's still huge american exposure.
