What kind of PPV figures would PBF get if fighting in UK...????

    Plug.....I apologise but it was a genuine question in the first place.
    Im an irate type of fella who acts first & thinks later & if I come across as a nationlist trouble maker then again I apologise but I just get riled by Terds like unbeatablefloyd etc... constantly knocking British fighters & Britain in general....................rant over.

    I know what you mean woo , I was brought up on american boxing & you couldnt go a week over here without some kind of big fight from the US being talked about or shown , I mean when the Fab 4 were at it(not the beatles:lol: ) American boxing was untouchable , I just get the impression that of late the soul seems to have gone out of the big american fight nights something that in my opinion began with the demise of Tyson.....:?. Maybe the lack of real American input at HW, , the traditional glamour division, at world level which has always been owned by americans in the past has something to do with it..........I mean the most part time fight fans used to know who the HW champ of the world was & does the fact that its no longer an American mean that all but the most serious of boxing fans in America dont care....???
    Im not having a pop with this question Im just saying what I see....;)

    I don't doubt you are correct but what kind of money do the casinoes put up ? It must be loads if it still makes sense to turn away 35000(ish) people !

    say 50 bucks a ticket minimum thats 17.5 million ! !

    Sorry, but no European boxing event is doing a live gate of $17.5 million. The record is $19 million(De La Hoya/Mayweather in the states), Number 2 is $16 million held by Lews/Tyson(also in the states). The Kessler/Calzaghe match did around $8 maybe $9 million

    No it wouldn't. Even with a much smaller crowd, this fight will can generate a better live gate in the U.S than over in the U.K. Also, with normal PPV's in the main event starts at between 11:00 P.M and 11:30 P.M EST, that's between 4:00 AM and 4:30 AM in the UK. This could certainly comprimise the live gate figures

    Sorry mate but your pretty wrong about the calzaghe gate, it was estimated at between 8 and 9 million pounds not dollars.

    $8 or $9 million pounds is about $16 -$18 million, that would be a record. I've never anything about this, I'll check up on it though.

    Thats what i figured I mean i could beleive a casino would put up 16-18 million but it seems a lot !

    Put it this way the cheapest ticket for calzaghe kessler was £50 or $100 dollars and the stadium had 50,000 plus their.

    Meant to sayt no need to be quite so snipey either Big Reg " No European boxing event" You mean the undisputed Super Middleweigth championship of the world ? :bbb A far more exciting fight than Mayweather De la Hoya and a far more exciting and relevant fight than Lewis Tyson.

    Here i was earlier on in that thread defending my American cousin and here I am regretting it already :lol:

    Here is an article that states estimated live gate figures for if 70,000 tickets were sold at Millenium stadium for a proposed match between Taylor and Calzaghe(before Talyor was KO'D).

    Excitement or relevency don't neccesarily add up to a higher gate. I'm not trying to put European boxing down, I'm just stating the facts.

    you misunderstand, not all 50k tickets cost $100, they were simply the cheapest on offer. they went from $100 up to $4000.
