What kind of ratings did Mike Tyson's fights on HBO pull? (especially against Berbick

    Yeah I remember this. Terry Norris fought a few times as well.

    Not to mention that that's 5+ million homes not counting how many bars, parties, friends etc..were actually watching the fight.

    Actually, I'm not even sure if FOX was an actual cable channel at that time. Pretty sure you could have watched it with nothing more than a TV antenna.

    I remember watching this one my junior year in college at my apartment with a room full of drunks. John Madden interviewing Tyson was hysterical as I remember it. I think the first question Madden asked him was something like "Do you like boxing?"

    that's true you could get NBC, CBS, ABC and Fox over the air until about four years ago.

    Yeah. I'm not 100% positive, because I did have cable in college, but I'm pretty sure Fox became available in the mid/late 80s around the time Married with Children debuted, and that from that time forward, Fox was available just like the rest of the regular networks. And by the mid-90s when Tyson faced Mathis, Fox had their big toe stuck in the NFL and had come along way from fledgling efforts like Married with Children and The Simpsons.
