You expect it from the unwashed idiots on public forums but the main articles on the website? It's childish and unprofessional and not becoming of those who, no doubt, regard themselves as serious boxing correspondents. Amir may not be your favorite boxer for whatever reason, but to deliberately and obviously play down his boxing achievements and ability makes you look stupid. He is a two time world champion, has beaten top quality opposition including current forum sweetheart, Marcos Maidana, has phenomenal speed unmatched in his weight class and at least one of his three losses was controversial to say the least. His style would pose problems for Mayweather and it is an intriguing match up to say the least. I fear the only real objection to it is that he may well beat may weather and that would be an utter disaster for his haters.
I don't particularly think he's bad. I actually like the guy as a fighter, I just think he's somewhat limited. I think he's not at all ready for a fighter like Mayweather, but there's always a chance I suppose. I think people dislike him because he has a slight entitlement issue.
His big mouth and repetitive parrot like nature and talking like he's a legend before he's actually achieved it. Khan was on ringside after his loss to Garcia and the look on his face after someone dared criticize him was priceless and kinda sums up why some dislike him. The main one that annoys is when he and his parrot like team and relatives pull out the "will only come back stwonga" line. Also people who talk about themselves in the third person are universally hated.
Use to be one of my fav fighters to watch in the ring under Roach, now he looks too cautious and fights scared. Maybe for good reason but IMO he's actually a lesser fighter. Still rooting for him though.
One thing that never liked about him, not taking responsibilities for his loses. The other just like Broner, they think they are elite but they are not.
