It is a good step for him and for international boxing in general. I imagine they are quite confident that he can either KO Froch or dominate him. Either way, it would be an impressive win in hostile territory against a very good fighter. I do however disagree with the whole being avoided thing. I doubt he was avoided anymore than he was ducking guys in the past. IMO neither one is entirely accurate.
Which makes it more admirable on Khans part. Bute would never be taking this fight if Froch hadn't just been clearly beaten by Ward...
Fighting Mundine in Australia was something special. I don't remember if it went to pursebids or if they had an agreement though.
Stupid much? atsch What was he supposed to do, go at a S6 fight and enter the ring to fight them? Can you be objective for a change?
Based on what? Bute agreed to fight Froch in 2007 for the IBF eliminator but Froch went the WBC route. Again... based on what? Not like Bute could drag Froch out of the Super Six while it was ongoing. :rofl
What about Marquez-John? No, John didn't come off a loss but the difference between fighting in home territory and this must have been even bigger. I don't know how popular John was in Indonesia (frankly, I don't know about his popularity know either) but it must have been bigger in the US. JMM wasn't a very big name at the time, but still... And look what it did for him. Losing, in my eyes, an extremely controversial decision with dubious point deductions and suddenly your bargaining power is gone.
