Hatton has always cocked his punchers before leaping in and throwing them. He has usually managed to get away with it but against the best like Mayweather and Pac he couldn't. Even Collazo who isn't a top fighter but does have pretty decent skills punished Hatton for this.

It's a pretty basic error but unfortunately Hatton has never corrected it. Also when throwing those leaping hooks his non punching hand is below his chin therefore leaving him wide open for a counter right on the button. If you are going to leap in like a tool at least protect your chin with your other hand.

Infact Hatton usually has his hands low for most of a fight. Not low in a Carl Froch or David Haye way but just a tad to low. He has this odd habit of having his hands to close together and resting them just under his chin, almost like he is resting his chin on his gloves. If you don't have much head movement and slow defensive reactions like Ricky does then you really should be getting yours hands higher.

Think that Pacman's south paw stance had a lot to do with it....

But the has plenty of sparring partners in camp that fought in the south paw stance..Ricky just reverted to being the old Ricky ..

Froch does the same thing which why I chose Taylor to beat him and it worked just the opposite. We all new Ricky was a fast and press the action, another fatal flaw, Pac's hands are two quick to for hatton not to be patient and he paid for it.
Quick hands can be neutralized as shown by Duran, Marquez , Floyd Jr and other master boxer it called fainting and cutting into your opponents timing, hatton faint but then dashes head forward with his hands down and head straight up.. **** I can't believe Floyd Sr didn't fix a simple ****ing chinq as keeping his ****ing guard up when closing the distance. I lost 200 buck and Im off this site for a month after today.

Floyd Jr showed you how to fight a fast south paw ,, look at the zab fight. Zab is just as explosive as Pac and punches just a hard and floyd was able to neutralize Zab speed and power.
