Ah, Darby, Pat and the rest. Love the Germs. Pat has some great Darby memorabilia. Tried to convince him to give me a "Germs burn" once. Ah youth....

    Screamers
    Weirdos
    Dils
    Bags
    X
    Black Randy
    Circle Jerks
    Catholic Discipline
    Suburban Lawns
    Black Flag
    Bad Brains
    Dead Kennedys
    Skulls

    Great era. Great music.

Sabbath were a pretty good band. Imo,Kraftwerk was boring, and the only Eno stuff I liked was some of his collaborations with David Bowie, and his Roxy Music material.

I love Kraftwerk and Eno. Way ahead of their time and something of a compositional throwback to earlier times, but I understand how people could get bored with either.

Eno and Fripp collaborations are a great thing.

On watching the Muhammad Ali - George Foreman fight for the zillionth time, I'm again reminded of how overrated this so-called "Golden Age" is.
Foreman was a brute, and I give him credit for that, but he fought the most amateurish emabrrassingly unskilled fight .... and his punches lacked the vaunted power he's known for. Ali had no legs to move with past a round or two - but he still beat Foreman thoroughly.
Foreman fought as badly against Ali as Frazier did against Foreman ! No adaptability whatsoever.
Ali was hot and cold the whole decade. He was a superb athlete but his bad nights - and there were many - he looked pretty awful.

Damn the 70s for having footage. Fighters are so much better when there is only a few clips of them beating crude looking semi retired fighters or losing to the best fighters they face in their career. That makes a fighter the best.
