Seeing Rocky III when I was 8 years old followed by watching Hagler v Hearns with my old man 18 months later
My grandpa had tons of old tapes and RING mags for me to go through when he was babysitting me, and we'd watch all of the big PPVs from 1997 and on basically.
Luan Krasniqi vs. Lamon Brewster One of the rare good HW fights. I was lucky to see it as a kid and was surprised that something was more fun than soccer.
Mine was watching old Ali fights on cable in the mid 90s. I saw the Ali \ Frazier trilogy, Foreman etc. That then got me into modern boxing... Tyson coming back from prison, Lennox Lewis and Naz. But Ali was my first love, even though I missed him first time around (too young)
As a ten year old i watched my first live fight ever and fell in love with the sport unfortunately it was McClellan vs Benn
My father boxed locally when he was young this was before World War II and there was always boxing on the TV around the house whenever a fight was on. One of the big pluses I had was that my father purchased one of the first betamax machines that were around at the time had lots of fights on video and I got to watch those when I was growing up and got to see the best from when I was very young.
Being a little kid watching world of sport on itv and sports night on BBC in the late 70s .I was allowed to stay up late for sports night.
Once I got punched in the face and I decided that it was not going to happen again anymore, so I went to the local gym and started to get punched in the face every week. It turned out that I'm pretty bad at fighting, but I love it.
Bruno, Eubank and Naz took British boxing by storm. I never held Benn and Lewis in the same esteem at the time which looking back is mental now.
A friend of mine went to a boxing card in Erfurt ( last saturday ) hope that boxing will make a comeback in Germany ( like in the 1990,s )
