Mike Tyson. And Mike Tyson's Punch Out... old skool NES. Having one of your all time favorite games that you played in grade school be a boxing game just kind of implants the presence of the sport in your brain I guess.

One word...Tython. Love him or hate him, the guy made as big of an impact on Boxing(in the 80s) as anyone has made on any sport...in any decade... in history.

When I was young boxing wasn't PPV.
I always watched it on Eurosport en I'd stay up all night to watch Herbie Hide, Chris Eubank or Naseem Hamed.

I always love boxing as a child. I used to hear talk about boxers like Sugar Ray, Hacker, and Muhammad Ali all the time. I always wanted to box as a child but my mother didn't let me.
When I was 14 I went to live with my brothers from another mother and found out one of my brothers used to box and I had an uncle who trained boxers. I begin to train with him. I ended up with 3 Golden Gloves, 3 Diamond Gloves, and 3 NJ State Amateur Championships. I had a pretty decent amateur career and 3 pro fights.
I walked away from boxing as a fighter because of management, lost of desire, and depression from my trainer(uncle) dying. I currently train my 12 year old and hope he makes more noise than I did because he's starting earlier than I did.

wanted to lose weight when I was 16, walked into a kickboxing gym lost 25kg, had 7 Amatuer kickboxing fights 5w 2L both at super heavyweight 91kg+ (I was only 92 kg) both oppenents were 110kg, started with boxing trainer to improve my hands but enjoyed it more, had 25 Amatuer bouts 20 wins 5L won a NSW heavyweight title and a Australian title, gave up due to work and family...I love the "sport" always will.

My Dad was always hating Ali:rofl:patsch
I don't recall seeing any of his fights as a kid but man did my Dad trash his name. I never understood how a man he did not know could get him so worked up bro:lol:

I liked Vinny Paz as a kid. He talked SOOO much smack and my Dad hated on him as well:rofl

The good ole days of Sweet Pea were nice

I had a buddy in my company that boxed while we were stationed in Alaska (Army) and it was so weird to watch and support him then go back to watching the pro fights on TV.

Anyway just been a fan for life. I did watch some NWA/WCW but that was just for kicks because of Ric Flair, yeah my Dad hated on him too, Woooooooooooooah:good
