my old mum typical irish family they all watched boxing on tv and i was brought up in an era of 3 tv channels and 1 tv per household and you watched whatever they watched also 17 million viewers for boxing was common then to this day my mum now 76 throws more left hooks and shouts at the screen for her favourite. she even looks forward to getting up at 4 am in the morning to watch big american fights. natural that i picked up her love of boxing especially when she made us join a boxing club when we were little boys to make men of us.
