I've heard the term been used to describe a boxer many times before, but what exactly does it mean?

Being black is a big factor.

    Oils, butter, other lubricants :patsch

Vision (as in awareness and consciousness) and proprioception (balance and coordination) I would say.

Avoiding punches. Dodging is best. You get higher points for deflecting shots with your shoulder than you do for deflecting them with your hands. Don't ask.

Evasiveness, subtle counterpunching moves. That sorta stuff.

I obviously didn't bother reading properly, what I said meant something slightly different. 'Slick', to me, is being agile, mobile or adept at methods/techniques (or any one of these), and often speed is a big part of it.

A fighter can be slick without necessarily being good at pacing or controlling a fight, that would be something else.
