I’m asking this because my coach is a pro and he’s very well rounded. Good feet, sharp punches, fast hands, solid power, volume etc. He seems to do everything right but can’t get past an even record. Obviously he’s fighting guys who also don’t have good records but they all seem to have everything down as well. So what exactly makes a great fighter?
Great management and matchmaking. Even the most talented fighters don’t get very far without an excellent manager behind them. Without careful matchmaking even the best fighter can become very beatable.
A mixture of talent, trainer, promotion/managers and fans. The first two prevail historically even if the second two do it for the moment.
I'd say someone who is well rounded and has fought other fighters who are highly skilled. It's ok to lose to skilled fighters. Its not ok to lose to unskilled fighters lol.
