    Simple:

He is a Fugging Warrior! Who shows up to fight, and fights the best, with NO excuses!

Has a huge fan base who like's him...but also has a huge who hate's on him! So, either way they will buy his fights.

Outside and inside the ring is a class act, humble and great sense of sportsmanship.

I'm a HUGE Miguel Cotto fan and the underlined is what I love of him.

I agree with most of this except what I underlined. I am not saying that he is not this . . . but respectful/respectable doesn't sell.

I think what sells he fights above everything you stated is that he is a cool ass mother****er that got a great way of saying things. I could listen to him talk about Margocheato all day that stuff is classic. :D

Canelo can fill up stadiums in Mexico and his TV ratings in Mexico when he fights are huge, so yeah I am not going to complain about Canelo. Broner couldn't fill a stadium in his own hometown so what does that tell you.

The biggest names in boxing are:

Pacquiao (big in Asia, second ppv in USA and UK), Mayweather (ppv King USA and UK, p4p no.1), Klitschkos (Huge ratings and revenues, and very big figures in Europe and Central Asia), Cotto (third ppv seller in USA), Márquez-Chávez jr-Canelo (Huge ratings in México, also good international recognition, especially Márquez), Haye (Global recognition).

Also honorific mention to Nonito Donaire, with great ratings in the Philipinnes. With less global recongnition, butgreat ratings in their countries, Koki Kameda, Kessler, Bute, Chris John and Félix Sturm.

....because he's fought the two biggest. One one his terms, and the other, on theirs.
