I don't follow that reasoning bretchko - plenty of top trainers have taken on fighters with weak chins who have great skills. It's just part of their job to train the fighter to protect their chin - Manny saw a fighter with skills who could be trained to fight in a way that would minimalise his weakness - similar to how Roach has taken on Khan. You have to also remember that it's also just a job, and if you're going to pay him well then he'll probably train you. Manny was Hearns trainer and describes him at the best fighter he's ever worked with - Hearns but no means had a great chin
PLEASE... Ruiz is not even close to Wlads JAB and Wlads defense and footwork... look at the Ruiz's feet almost side by side when Haye hits him..... bad footwork... bad balance and bad defense... Fight current Ruiz to fighting current Wlad is night and day... even you know what he did to Ruiz is meaningless against Wlad. EVERY fight is different
he for sure is something extra ordinary, compared to all the fighters wlad has fought so far. its his 26th fight and hes fighting number 1 at heavyweight. in these few fights he has fought in 2 weight classes and won so many titles. he has speed and power and seems to be intelligent in the ring so i hope wlad doesn't take him lightly coz i believe that he has more than enough of needed tools to beat wlad!
I still don't think his chin is bad ..at all ...Sanders hits like a mule and didnt get him out cold and Brewster ? well now thats a whole diff story there..depending on what you want to believe.
He's not dangerous at all. Tiny guy, average power, a bit above average hand speed, terrible footwork, zero jab. If Wlad wants, he will put him in the hospital in the first round, if not toy with him and put him in the grave in 7.
I saw a report today saying that Haye's psychological state is shattered because his wife left him taking their 2 y.o. child. The split up is caused by Haye's affair with an ex-stripper who he's been seen around lately more often than not. Is he looking for an early excuse I wonder?
Haye doesn't play at being a bad guy to sell tickets. He is a genuine ****. Of course he will use that as an excuse. He might just be gracious enough after the fight to admit that he got beaten by the better man - maybe. But the excuses will flow thick and fast afterwards.
