just watching behind the glory with tyson

im just wondering what actually makes this guy such a self hatefull character, he says he has no self respect and no love for his life and wishes he were dead.

when you actually take time to listen to him, he actually is a very intelligent man, however, what makes tyson 'Tyson'?

    what it his past?

Here's my guess. As a kid, he hung out with scumbags, and then basically became a scumbag himself. Arrested over 40 times by the time he was twelve, offering to help old ladies with there groceries then punching them out and stealing there pocket books and **** like that. As he became successful, he always had that nagging feeling in the back of his head no matter how much praise people heaped on him. You know, "Youre no good, you done deserve this"... that sort of ****. Then, after Buster Douglas kicked his ass in, all of his worst inner fears were confirmed. He felt exposed, like now everyone knew he was no good. He was also disgusted that he never beat another legit champion in his era. This fed into his low self esteem and being so wildly over-rated by his fans fed into his guilt. This led to him reverting to past behavior patterns. Getting a bit "rapey", ear-biting, punching old guys, disrespecting everyone (especially women), trying to break peoples arms...that sort of ****.
Now that his career is over, the pressure is off. After becoming a "Fat Crackhead (his words), he went through rehab and counseling. I'm guessing he learned how to forgive himself and focus on what a good person he CAN become NOW. That is why he appears to be much more at ease, relaxed, and genuinely happy (most days). Because he knows that he HAS become a better person.
That's my attempt at dime store psychology, hope you enjoyed it ;)

    1) His up bringing
    2) Fame and Glory "leeches, drugs, money, women etc."
    3)His jail stint
4)Short Temper along with insecurities that he himself has admitted to..

I think that sums it up,when you hear him talk he is an intellectual guy @ the end of the day..

You sound pretty young, or like somebody who has only just gotten into boxing.

He was bullied as a kid for being fat, had losses in his family at a young age, got involved with gangs, the only guy to give him a chance died, Don King ****ed him over, he was accused of **** and went to prison. The list is endless.

It all takes it's toll. I'm just glad to see him today with a smile on his face. He has been through a lot of ****.

Nature as well. There must be some chemical imbalance, some inherent predisposition toward extremity.

A complex person for sure Tyson is. The movie "Tyson"
was a masterpiece imo a lot of deep moments.
****ed up I heard his daughter died in some freak
choking accident. Lots of the very best talents ever
were very troubled, in turn feeding their hunger to
Be so elite, and ****ing up their lives. Beethoven got
Deeply depressed when he was going deaf, and his
"Mind's ear" was perfect so he could know what everything
he composed would sound like and he composed some of his
Best stuff later after deafness. Mike Tyson truly is a tragic
Hero though, I hope he can enjoy his life somehow. Truly
a one of a kind talent though.
