He really is a nice guy and this always helps, just look at DLH, that's supposedly a large part of why was so popular. The difference between these guys is that Pac's demeanor doesn't scream "FAKE!" like Oscar's. Pac could still be a much bigger star if his English was better. But in the ring he's already doing all he can to guarantee his popularity. :good
pac surpassing expectation in every fight. everybody loves that he's overturning the table everytime he fights. not even haters and noncompatriots can keep on hating on that. pinoys were just lucky he was born as one.
he's a tazmanian devil, he's none stop , relentless and just brings excitement. He's a neutral's dream of a fighter.
The whole lying about his age and sneaking in lead weight to be legal for boxing appeals to young, short and skinny people. His absolutely superhuman ability to bear thousands of islands' worth of pressure without showing any sign of cracking, while doing reams of commercials, charities, karaoke, signings, college courses, healing the sick (if David Hasselhoff can do it, it's only a matter of time until Pac does), etc., etc. is a wee bit impressive, too.
People like the idea of a great boxer who isn't arrogant, flashy or lets the fame get to his head. He's the definition of the people's champion, and he also happens to be the best boxer in the world at the moment. That to me seems like just cause for mass popularity.
because he started his career at 107 pounds and just beat a guy who held a middleweight title in DLH and flattened a solid junior welterweight champion in 2 rounds...... and derailed 2 of the baddest mexican warriors in morales and barerra
Everybody loves a Cinderella story, an everydayman, who's work ethic and zeal for life and career is infectious as it is inspirational...
Hes a great fighter, brave and exciting,he also has risen out of true adversity with honour and is a true man of the people.
