He has an ok grasp of the basics he was clueless in the thurman fight. Time and time again his son looks mediocre against any opponent with an ounce of ring iq and footwork. If khan didnt have a glass jaw he would have easily won a wide UD. Lamont peterson got robbed. If danny knew how to cut off the ring he would have cornered thurman and possibly time him to the body and steal the last few rounds. His dad literally told him "let him run, the judges dont care about that" and look what happened! Then he had the nerve to complain and accuse the wbc of being corrupt. Danny is what youd call a "waist up" fighter. Above his waist he's an excellent fighter but below he's a caveman. Canelo had the same problem before he learned how to use his legs in the golovkin fight. Danny could learn from shawn and kenny Porter who swallowed their pride and brought in a new trainer to develop his jab and defense.
Your right about his footwork. Angel says Danny don't listen to him anymore. I don't think Welterweight is the best division for him. If he could make 40 that would make his power better.
Matthew Saad Muhammed Smokin Joe Frazier Jeff Chandler Tyrone Everett Cylone Hart Willie Monroe Bobby Watts Bennie Briscoe Bernard Hopkins George Benton Calvin Grove I mean the list goes on and on. Detroit and Philly were the two top cities for awhile and i would have given Philly the edge. And at a certain time Atlantic City was very big in boxing and thats not that far from Philly .
Meldrick Taylor Jimmy Young Tim Witherspoon Bert Cooper Curtis Parker Tyrone Crawley Frank Fletcher Marvis Frazier Charlie "Choo Choo" Brown James Schuler David Bey Kevin Howard
AC at one point had alot of casinos that would host fights- even major championship bouts. New York no longer was the force it was in boxing. ESPN also would televise bouts from AC all the time and back in the day ESPN was really big into boxing and you could watch certain boxers start off and become Contenders, champions etc. So on the east coast AC was the place to fight. Mickey Ward,Don Curry, Doug Dewitt, all use to always be on ESPN all the time along with alot of others . I usec to watch Greg Haugen on ESPN all the time.
Yeah Garcia has been the best of late. The best up and comer whom I predict will do good things is Jaron Ennis. He’s just 21, Welterweight and is 22-0 he’s been on Shobox a few times and has impressed.
It's a hell of a lot better than Camden, which is just across the river. Center City Philly is very nice. Then, South Philly is working class, but not too bad. You should see parts of Washington DC - Southeast on the east side of the Anacostia River. Wouldn't go there after dark.
Anthony "Two Guns" Fletcher was I believe the "The Animal's" brother. He fought in a lighter division. The only reason I remember him is I was present when he got shot in the park watching basketball. It was a surprise. Who would want to shoot a guy like 'Two Guns'? Crazy world
