Incredible poise, exciting, no frills attitude, and he's gotten the shaft with the whole Margo situation while not lashing out.
He's just what every boxer should aspire to in attitude: come in shape, fight the best - even if you're at a disadvantage, and give your all.
he fought top oppositions in mosley-margo and pacquiao plus his exciting style with a humble personality. something like the polar opposite of floyd.
I didn't know how much some posters here REALLY love Floyd. They even feel a need to bring him up in a thread dedicated to a guy who's not even on Floyd's radar right now.atsch
Hardly anyone dislikes Cotto. Personally, I was never a big fan and thought he was/is overrated. No one cares about that though. No one cares about how good you are. This is a boxing website and people focus on stupid **** like whether or not a guy is humble. Let me tell you somethin, Cotto is not humble. Watch the first round of that Margo fight. He just as cocky as he wanted to be, raising his hand in the air after landing a punch, skippin around like he was the man. Margarito stopped all that **** in round 2. By round 11, Margo had knocked all the cool right out of Cotto's walk. Cotto wasn't so cocky afterwards, he really was humble at that point. Cotto has made a good career out of beating B level guys, and even added a couple of A listers to his hit list. He has heart, he gives it his all, and most of his fight are exciting. I appreciate him for that and I respect his skills. However, none of that is ever going to stop me from pointing out his glaring shortcomings.
Seems like a really good guy, gives it his all every time, doesn't duck anyone, doesn't talk garbage. Doesn't have Floyd's skills, but who does. You'd have to be a real ******* not to like him.
he isnt a primadonna at all. I have peeps and have been to caguas many times and he is just more to himself than trinidad or juanma. he has always been that way and the puerto rican fans still love him.
